Gore-Tex Feature
Duranglers guides put their waders through hell. Every day is filled with slippery rocks and sharp sticks. There is no "gently" when they are in search of fish. Their day begins hauling coolers, loading gear and boats. To end the day, they throw their boots and waders in the back of the truck, wet and muddy. Treating your waders like this means you have two options; you have lots of pairs of waders, or you own the best. Simms Gore-Tex® waders are the best. Here are some examples of how we came to this conclusion.

We would venture to say that Mark Engler spent more time in these waders than he did any other article of clothing he owns. Mark wears his G3 waders 23 hours a day. He made them a part of his regular wardrobe, replacing his torn blue jeans and tennis shoes. Mark not only guided over 100 days on our area rivers and streams, but duck hunted over 100 days as well. Given the same abuse Mark could have gone through maybe 3 or 4 pairs of any other wader on the market. Josh Grounds has been known to frequent local bars and restaurants in his Simms Waders. Because they are completely breathable and comfortable, he seldom remembers he has them on. Josh doesn't wait until the river to change into his waders. He can be found early mornings leaving footprints in the local markets, feverishly searching for lunch fixins and his morning Coca-Cola. 150+ days with clients on the San Juan, Animas, Dolores, and high mountain creeks plus an additional 150+ days fishing on his own, have pushed the waders to their limits. Day in and day out the waders have to endure brush and brambles, craggy rocks and butt slides down steep banks, barbed wire fence crossings, and rolling around in shallow waters trying to release frisky fish.

Joe Delling takes care of his Simms G3 waders, (he sometimes hangs them on the porch to dry) and claims to have somewhere in the neighborhood of 327 days of use out of them.

He refuses to let go of them and get a new pair. "They're just getting broken in" says Joe. He, like Mark and Josh, spends more time on the water than any one person should really be allowed to. The fact that each one of these guides has been able to have a pair of waders last throughout an entire season is an amazing feat in itself. The Gore-Tex® G3 technology does exactly what it says it does. It is extremely abrasion and puncture resistant yet is comfortable and breathes better than any other wader on the market today. The product weighs so much less than traditional neoprene, it actually makes it easier to wade. Amazingly enough, Simms waders are even great in the winter. Because the wader breathes, it doesn't trap moisture in the waders that would otherwise make you cold. Simms waders are the premier, year-round wading solution. Comfortable, durable, and effective... rarely do we see a product that truly revolutionizes the industry.
