LLAMA
TREKING FOR TROUT
Twenty-five
years of guided fly-fishing experience plus twenty-one years
of guided llama pack trips equals one phenomenal trip to Southwest
Colorado’s pristine San Juan Mountains.
Duranglers
of Durango and Redwood
Llamas of Silverton are pleased to announce that they
will now offer jointly guided trips. Duranglers will provide
the expertise of a fly fishing guide and Redwood Llamas will
provide the pack trip guide and llamas. On our multi-day pack
trips, clients will see amazing high-altitude terrain, with
expansive views of exquisite Colorado country.
Clients
can explore both high altitude lakes and creeks with an experienced
Duranglers guide. Trips will be 3 or 4 days with a group size
of 4-6 people. As you hike timberline country and take in
the scenery, the llamas will carry the group gear and your
personal gear. Redwood Llamas will provide all pack equipment,
tents, food, and an excellent camp cook.
Llamas are an excellent means of travel in the mountains.
Llamas have a long history as a pack animal dating back to
the time of the Incas in the Andes. Llamas are an ideal pack
animal because padded feet and browsing make them an environmentally
sound pack animal. The llamas have incredible sure-footedness
and stability through mountain terrain.
Trips
are limited, so contact Duranglers for more details.
